We are continuing to invest heavily in our UAV fleet as demand for building & infrastructure inspection and modeling grows. The latest additions are the Matrice 300 drones, with 3360-degree cameras, thermal cameras, massive zoom capabilities, and a 55-minute flight time, they have market-leading inspection capabilities.
We asked our field technology specialist, Greg Rowell to give us his thoughts on this new piece of kit.
‘There’s a lot to shout about here. The 55-minute flight time completely blows our Inspire 1 (12-minute flight time) out of the water, meaning our pilots can spend more time in the air, capturing valuable data for the client.
Setting aside the top of the line thermal sensor and massive zoom capabilities, the safety features of the Matrice are fantastic. Making it an obvious choice for missions when reliability is key.
The Matrice 300 RTK platform is designed with extensive system and sensor redundancies to maximize flight safety and reliability. These redundancies and safety mechanisms include: dual flight control system sensors, dual control signal links, dual intelligent batteries, dual transmission links, obstacle sensor system redundancies, and three-propeller emergency landing.
It is our top priority to ensure the safety of our clients, pilots and members of the public. The Matrice 300 even has the ability to warn the pilot of Aircraft within 30km of the drone. Making deconfliction issues less likely in future missions.’
